Montessori education - the Montessori method
This method of education has developed significantly over the years and is now a major influence in the pre-school nursery system.
It allows children to express themselves both as individuals and as members of a group.
Dr Maria Montessori believed that all children are inherently intelligent and that by developing their senses and directing their natural enthusiasm achievements would abound.
Tiny Toes aims to encourage each child to explore, in particular materials and educational equipment.
They are allowed to work and progress at their own pace although they should, after two years, be able to read and write.
