Caterpillar Room   (3 months  to 2 years)

Children can join us at anytime from the age of 3 months, where their journey will begin in the Caterpillar Room - an airy, light, purpose built environment.

We have been committed to preparing nursery age children for life in a warm, loving and social environment .

Caring, highly qualified staff cater to your baby's needs at all times and encourage them to start their journey towards exploration by taking a holistic approach to care which capitalises on their ongoing training i.e. baby yoga, massage, ‘Tiny Talk’ baby sign language etc.

During the first year of life, children learn to reach out, to grasp and act on their environment.  Our baby nest provides a rich, stimulating and peaceful atmosphere in which your child can unfold.

The Caterpillar room incorporates:

    •    Underfloor heating so when they start to crawl they are kept warm
    •    Ball pool
    •    Separate sleep/rest area
    •    Sensory room
    •    Separate garden with covered play area

We work closely in partnership with parents/carers, to help to support you, as your baby develops to build the foundations for a lifetime of creative learning.  We keep detailed illustrated records of your child's time with us - showing their development, growth and achievements and making sure that you don't miss any of those exciting moments!

Butterfly Room (2-3 years)

At 2 years your child will continue their learning journey with us in our Butterfly room where social skills are developed through a wide variety of practical activities and early Montessori materials which develop learning through the use of every sense.

Here, their enthusiasm continues to be stimulated through use of the unique Montessori materials.  We assess children for readiness to move into the Busy Bees Rooms from the age of 2 years 6 months.

Activities are arranged on low shelving units within easy reach of even the smallest child.  Children may work uninterrupted at tables or on small mats on the floor where they are naturally comfortable.  The children are free to choose activities that capture their interest, and new activities are introduced as each child is ready for them.

The Butterfly room will have:

    •    Large outdoor adventure play area with playhouse
    •    Covered sand den
    •    Spiral slides, tubes and swing bridges
    •    Separate story and reading room
    •    Access to the 3-5 year rooms

Busy Bees Room (3-5 years)

Children develop best through first hand experience.  With careful observation, suitable challenges are planned that will lead to a high degree of motivation and success.  Children will enjoy a breadth of activities in line with the national curriculum.  We have a child centred approach to build on what your child already knows and can do.

All learning is encouraged through purposeful play, independent learning and self- discipline in line with the Montessori ethos.

Art, music, science and technology, early literacy and numerical activities are a part of our daily routine.  We Provide opportunities to develop their language, reasoning, creative and imagination skills.

Through our daily hygiene routines, we provide opportunities to gain body control and dexterity with an awareness of health and care.

Children will learn in an environment where their achievements are highly valued.  Your child will have access to a computer from the age of three.

A key person will be dedicated to your child to encourage, support and develop their skills and ensure that records of development are kept and individual needs are met for you and your child.

We accept the grant funded sessions for children who are 3 years.  This means that you are entitled to 2½ hours free childcare per day for five days per week, we call these 2½ hours ‘sessions’, so a parent may claim for either one session per day for five days or two sessions per day for two days plus one extra.  We deduct this from your invoice during term time only.
